How to move registered installation to another machine

Hello Unify Team,

due to some reorganizations in our development equipment, TD installations (3.1,5.2,6.0) have to be moved to new machines. What should we pay attention to performing this task?

Well, you should pay attention to the licenses you have for 5.2 and 6.0, since those are current product versions.

A Move entails an uninstall from current/old machine, then a complete install + registration + activation on the new machine. For 5.2 and 6.0 an install PAC and PAK pair of codes are machine-dependent and TD installer intenally generates the PAC code value based on product PMC (see About box for PMC value), and once PAC is obtained, that's passed along with internal machine ID as part of registration process. Return email is the activation PAK value, which is machine-specific.

As for 3.1, that was an old Gupta release and I'm not sure how that was handled. Very likely you will need the original install CD and/or floppies.
